Cho-Hunicke Reigns Over ZellwoodApopka, Florida. The SunCoast Series wrapped things up at Zellwood Country Club today with Jeanne Cho-Hunicke (Longwood, FL) firing a final round two under par 70 to earn her second SunCoast Series title. Cho-Hunicke put together rounds of 72-73-70=215 to finish the event at one under par. Jeanne, a member of the RIFE family, used her RIFE Aussie putter to roll to her second victory at Zellwood Country Club.
"I came into this tournament very confident in my game. I have been struggling for the past five or six weeks and have worked hard on my swing and going into the first round I felt like I had things figured out. It also helped that I have won here in the past. I like the course, it sets up to my game well. Going into the final round tied with Charlotte and Sarah my goal was to just stay in it mentally and that would help me hit good shots. I hit one bad shot today but I bounced back and for the most part I am pleased with my ball striking and putting."
In addition to taking home the first place prize money Jeanne Cho-Hunicke earns the first $150.00 RIFE bonus handed out this season for using her RIFE Aussie in all three rounds of competition and winning.
Charlotte Campbell (Heathrow, FL) posted a final round one over par 73. Campbell, who thought of withdrawing prior to the first round due to illness, put together rounds of 71-74-73=218 to finish the tournament at two over par to earn runner-up honors this week. Brownstown, Michigan talent Sarah Olsen had a nice showing in her first SunCoast Series tournament finish third at three over par.
The SunCoast Series takes next week off to prepare for the Florida Women's Open being held March 3-5 at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando.
